Afterseven long years of negotiations, the United Nations in April thisyear overwhelmingly adopted the first ever treaty to regulate theUS$70 billion global trade in conventionalarms such as tanks, warships, attack helicopters, as well as smallarms and light weapons (SALWs). Here, we present a few tables todemostrate Singapore's ranking in terms of arms ownership, importsand exports worldwide.
